Thinking about new business and how to convey capability.
I’ve never thought Prior client work was an informative way to communicate relevant experience.
Things that seem more relevant?
Experience in different methods of working – e.g. agile or waterfall project work. Stakeholder management vs team delegation etc.
Quantity of category relevant projects over the quality of one select category project.

One of the hardest parts of being a manager is you need to be comfortable with “thats not how I’d do it, but thats a fine way to do it”

I’m into the idea of alternative antonyms.
e.g.
The opposite of Love is apathy, not hate
The opposite of addiction is connection, not sobriety.
The opposite of courage is conformity, not cowardice.
“The opposite of more is not less. If we do it right, the opposite of more is better.”
etc.
My favorite (which breaks the format but same idea)
When partially involved, one is at work. When fully involved, you are at play.
These are dangerously close to being “Deepities” – but I think they stay outside that definition? Even if they are, an easy way to reframe a topic.

A hot take that feels indulgent to agree with:

In the 1920s, new car sales were falling, so the industry promoted the term ‘jaywalking’ to blame accidents on pedestrians, rather than aggressive drivers. [Peter Norton via Clive Thompson]

DON'T JUDGE WHAT'S ON THE PAPER, JUDGE WHAT'S IN THE TEAM'S HEAD
Always, always, always take into account that what you're seeing isn't the final execution, it isn't even the blueprint for the execution, it's a sketch of a blueprint of an idea that will - with time, and talent and performance and post and music and mood turn into something. Really understanding how the team see this, what they're trying to make, what this will eventually FEEL like is key.

“Pro Tools Proficiency” May Be Keeping Us From Diversifying Audio
We are the tools we use. I think about this with Strategy a lot.

this description is also likely a leading cause of Strategy getting in trouble for over complicating things.
“When partially involved, one is at work. When fully involved, you are at play”
I just stumbled on this quote a few days ago... I absolutely love it. It has instantly become my management mantra.
Lovely curation! Each bit is better than the other, all worth bookmarking & sharing repeatedly.
