The Core Process:
Write down what they are trying to do.
Write down what you are trying to do to help make that happen

I just finished “Simpson’s Confidential by Mike Reiss.
There was one takeaway I can’t let go of:
A standard episode of the Simpsons goes through ~100 rewrites.
I’ve always had a fascination with the concept of the Writers Room. But this is the process as Reiss described it:
Somebody has an idea and writes a rough script.
The script is given to someone else to rewrite
That very possibly happens again.
There is a table read. Where the cast reads the script to as many as 50 people. If a joke doesn’t get a laugh from the majority of the people there, it gets cut and rewritten.
There are many many more rewrites. Sometimes over 100.
They send it to animation…
2 and 4 are wild. Can you imagine doing anything like that in our industry? The care for the craft, the trust of your team and the lack of ego required is incredible.

What if you wrote a strategy then handed it off for a re-write?
…HOWEVER…
at the same time, I also believe this to be true:

Quotes (where I mostly neglected to note who said it)
Today’s cult of convenience fails to acknowledge that difficulty is a constitutive feature of human experience.
“Your experience of life is not based on what happens to you but what you pay attention to1.”
“i refuse to be right — the goal is to be wrong in interesting ways”
"your work shouldn't try to solve the problem, it should present the problem"
