I’m out tomorrow, so this is going out today. Could I schedule it? Yes.
But predictability was never the point.
PIRATE(D) READINGS
Marshal McLuhan: Mechanical Bride- I’ll be honest, this book is a rough read. This dude was heady as hell and mixes academic language with wild metaphors constantly. But of all his books, IMO this is the most important.
///
Richard Paul, The Miniature Guide to Critical Thinking– I haven’t read this yet, but flipping through and I already know lots of it will end up in my folder of valuable and stolen goods.
///
Mark Earls, Welcome the Creative Age– I will be buying a hard copy of this.
///
Dave Trott, The Power of Ignorance– There aren’t a ton of books I share links to that I feel bad about. The way I see it is I’m offering access to knowledge that people cant afford (I should add up the cost of all the books I’ve shared)… But Trott is one of my primary influences and his books are directly responsible for me being a better writer. So I do feel kind of guilty sharing his latest book, released in Feb of this year.
I will be buying it. You should too.
LINKS
The Century of the Self - Part 1: "Happiness Machines" A must watch IMO. Did you know the term PR was invented because the term “propaganda” needed a rebrand after the Nazis and WWII?
///
List of Aesthetics- This is a rabbit hole.
///
How Big Oil Misled The Public Into Believing Plastic Would Be Recycled– I often tell people “it’s not our job to save the world. But we also have the potential to ruin the world, and we shouldn’t do that.
///
Why we shouldn’t be afraid of nightmares–Really cool read. But my nightmares are still fucking terrifying.
