The creators of South Park share their favorite storytelling advice. Drive your story with words like “but” and “therefore” instead of “and then.”
PIRATE(D) READINGS
This doesn’t really count, because you can’t pirate something you made. But, to be fair, like most things I make, it is comprised of pirated goods…
Finally decided to release “The Scrapbook Expanded Edition” (link)

And something I’ve shared before but I was reminded recently how important client service is to making good work. So here is “the Art of Client Service” (pdf)
LINKS
This weeks Means of Creation newsletter was really good.
///
Perell’s Beer Mode and Coffee mode. But even better is his article “Look for things that don’t make sense”

If you’re in a good mood and feeling optimistic, but you’d prefer not to be, give Nick Bostrom’s assessment of existential risks a read.
///
And my favorite read of the week: “The Tyranny of Chairs” — So much more than the typical “sitting is bad for you” article.
I learned about a furniture designer named Papanek who was calling out design’s failure to allow for non-normative bodies in 1971.
I learned about the intersection of the telephone invention with the research into deafness.
I learned that this chair was originally pitched as a lazy boy replacement for people who were using lazy boy chairs while on dialysis.
Anyway, it’s worth a read.
